hahahaha AMOS!

This is such a fun and funny stage of motherhood!
I was cooking Sunday Dinner and Amos crawled away from me (he's getting pretty adventurous and brave!! More and more every day!) ...When I went exploring to see where he was, this is what I found him doing!!

So I laughed, snapped some pictures and went back to cooking (with a big smile on my face and Amos on my mind!).
When I went to check on him a second time, he had wondered into another room:
Isn't his diaper bum SO cute?! And they way he kneels! Hahaha AWH I love him! And, Like I said,
SUCH A FUN STAGE OF MOTHERHOOD.

Goodbye clean house! See you again in 20+ years!

8 MONTHS!

This little Man gets into everything! He crawls and leaves a path of destruction! The gamble is this: is doing chore A worth the chore B, which Amos will create for me while I'm not monitoring him?! :)

Amos wants to eat all by himself these days! He's losing interest in spoon-fed baby food way too fast! I can't believe we're in the cheerio, graham cracker, banana stage!

And when he sleeps, HE SLEEPS! And it's too cute! Two 1-2 hour naps a day!

YAY for our play dates! Halle. Madilyn. Amos.
"Don't even THINK about containing me mom!" We can kiss the days of jumpers and rockers good-bye! This boy wants to move!

*Most recent pic! Lots of these are a little out of date, but this is my 8-toothed doody dude!

He Loves his daddy soo much!

  • Amos is seeking his independence! As long as I answer to him when he calls out to me, it doesn't matter how far a part we are from each other! It's fun to call for him and watch him follow my voice to me!
  • One day kirk pointed at Amos's fire engine and said "Go get it bud!" He said it a few times over and Amos crawled to it! He played with it, then crawled back! Kirk pointed and said "Get it!" And he did the same thing! It's fun that he's learning to interact with us!!
  • Amos claps! And he waves good-bye on command!!! Well, most of the time! Every once in a while he'll be shy, but it's way fun! He's so smart!!
  • He's beginning to Furniture-walk! He's not very good at pulling himself up (unless it's in his crib) but when he does, he gets that wobbly look and starts to inch here and there! He doesn't get far before he plops, but it's fun to watch! It makes me nervous sometimes though!
  • I'm afraid that we might have a temper tantrum toddler in a few months! When he doesn't get his way he is very LOUD and upset! We had an embarrassing melt down at walmart the other day!
  • Amos gives kisses! Open mouthed, of course! Oh, and he gives bites too!! I have to watch him like a hawk when we're playing with other babies!

BEAR LAKE!

Everyone keeps asking what there is to do at Bear Lake in the middle of the winter! Well, allow us...... (I forgot my camera but hopefully I can round up some pics from our family. There were lots and lots of flashes going off!)
  1. Hot tubbing! Even Amos loved it! I haven't enjoyed a hot tub in way toooo long!
  2. Ice Fishing! Kirk caught 2 big trout! And brought home tons of other little fish for Moja!
  3. Chocolate Dipped Raspberries! They were to DIE for!
  4. The whole gang circled around the table playing games!
  5. Comfort food!
  6. A Cozy Cabin!
  7. Beautiful walks outside! There's lots of quiet beauty up there!
  8. Amos's first snow! Dad taught him how to taste it and boy was it a big hit!
  9. Running???! To our surprise, grandma and grandpa went running together every day! We were pretty impressed!
We'll take any excuse to get away to make fun family memories together! Even if it means going to Bear Lake to be secluded in the winter time! Thank you grandma and grandpa for providing for us!

Kirks Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to the most Handsome Daddy we know! The big 25! Wahoo! We celebrated by:
  1. Grandma Peggy and Cousin Ky coming down for a weekend and taking us out for a Birthday dinner!
  2. Aunt Libby coming down with a car full of surprises from the Fortuna's!
  3. Amos and I making a Birthday roast and ice cream cake!
  4. New fishing gear! Rod, hooks, tackle box, fillet knife, needle nose pliers... YAY!
  5. Watching Ace Ventura, by special request of the birthday man! lol
WE LOVE YOU DAD!!!

Thank you for the birthday calls, cards, texts and gifts everyone! We love you! Thanks for helping make Kirks day memorable!

Christmas Highlights

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011
I always feel like people give me too much for Christmas! As I was looking back through all these pictures I can't help but think, 'Gosh, I love my family. What more could I want?! Kirk and I have it all.' This year was just beautiful! Amos was showered in gifts from head to toe! Kirk and I were spoiled so much! We have so many wonderful people who care about us and love us. Thank you everyone!

REALLY?

Where did the time GO?!?!!?!
Well oh my heavens!
Every time I get a moment to relax and I think about how important it is for me to record what is going on in our Family, something snags my attention and before I know it another week goes by. It's sure good to be busy, isn't it?! Life is wonderful! We are surely blessed in countless ways.

Here comes some highlights of our family's last few months...
