Happy Boy!

If you haven't noticed, I'm addicted to this cute little guy! Between him and his father, I'm set! The only difference is, dad isn't around for me to snap pictures of all day :)

8 Things I LOVE About Being a Mom of an 8 Week Old!
  1. Amos is starting to smile! It's adorable and so fun!!
  2. Amos wants his mama more! It's easier for me to soothe him than others and that's the pride of a mom! I love it! The second I take him from someone or start talking to him he's calmer. Did I already say I love it?
  3. Amos is starting to figure out that his hands are HIS! Getting closer and closer to figuring our the Thumb Sucking thing and I'm just tickled!
  4. Amos is getting into a nap routine! And sleeping so well through the night. Time to put him in the crib!!! (this is totally harder for me than him! I'm going to miss this little guy)
  5. Amos is nursing lots quicker! I L.O.V.E. nursing! I have since day 1! But instead of taking upwards of 45 minutes, we're down to a good 20 :) Good job buggy!
  6. Amos is getting CHUBS! I love my chubba baby!! There's so much more to hold and love!
  7. Amos is one of those babies that absolutely ADORES being nakey! Every time I change his diaper he is ALLLL smiles and giggles! Bath time is paradise around here! Seriously, if you're having a bad day come change my baby's diaper or give him a bath and his excitement will make your day!
  8. Amos has given us the lip a few times! It is so silly!! This is new... he'll curl his bottom lip down when he's mad. All these changes are so fun! He's the best! 8 1/2. Amos is talking lots! Especially to dad! Kirk knows how to get him started... makes me jealous sometimes! We love his happy baby noises!!

Happy Anniversary!

What a busy anniversary this one has been!! It was my year to plan so luckily it kinda worked out AWESOMELY! I told you about our Rodeo Weekend that we did over the 4th of July when my mom came in town to watch Amos, right?! Well that was my surprise to Kirk! Then, Brad and Leah came the weekend right before our REAL anniversary (which fell on a Monday) and they watched Amos while we went to dinner. I can't even begin to tell you what a surprise I was in for!! Kirk had a diamond band special made for my wedding ring!!! He said he had it done after our 1st anniversary and has been holding on to it since! AWH! My eyes just swelled with tears! He is such a good man. He has spoiled me once again, and continues too everyday! And geez-I've had the best time showing off my Anniversary gift from him. He is my most thoughtful sweetheart! His gift outdid mine A.G.A.I.N., for mine was just 2 scrapbooks I've been working on.... one was of all our Engagements and the other of Fav Memories. But take a look at this:

1. My Engagement Ring

2. My Engagement Ring + Sealing Band (kinda hard to see)

3. My Engagement Ring + Sealing Band + Anniversary Band!!

It honestly feels ginormous. My husband is just amazing! I really was not expecting this :)

I love my 12lb 2oz baby! And every 22.25 inches of him!

I'm just tickled by him sitting up in this thing! He loves to watch T.V. but doesn't last long sitting up by himself! Getting stronger every day though!

I remember when Josh & Heather gave us these jammies.... we thought it'd NEVER fit!

Churchy Lurchy!

I loved going to church Sunday..............and not looking fat!
Is it cool of me to just say that?!

But for reals this time, I l.o.v.e.d. going to church on Sunday. I loved watching Kirk pay our tithing. I loved sitting as a family during The Sacrament. I loved taking the Sacrament! I loved being together, knowing without a doubt, we were where we were suppose to be.

It's so great to be back in Relief Society! I learn so much from the other women there. Every Sunday I wanna kick myself for not bringing a journal to take notes in, because our lessons and discussions are just that good! I get a lot out of them every Sunday! I always come away with new goals I want to accomplish, and things I want to change in my life to better the person I am.

The Church we belong too is centered on the Family and progressing as a Family! And geez, It's no wonder to me why! ...My gratitude for Kirk and I being sealed together has no end! Knowing that our children our born under The Covenant as a blessing of that sealing is HUGE! We want our family forever! Likewise with my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and so forth...I am deeply thankful to them for being worthily sealed so ALL of us can be with one another. I love being sealed to my brother, his wife, and her family through the Priesthood! My cousins...aunts&uncles, great-aunts&uncles, second cousins! That's so awesome to think about! "Together" a word that cultivates my excitement right now! That is happiness. That is valuable beyond description. Kirk and I look forward to the day when his mother finds a Priesthood holder worthy to connect us to her, and her family through the Power of God in the Holy Temple. That will be a day of inexpressible joy! We want that so much! I want to be sealed to his cousins and grandparents! And family!

"Our Families are not yet ours. The Lord has entrusted them to us to see how we treat them. If we are Faithful, only then will they be given to us forever."
-Brigham Young

"If we are Faithful..."
What is being "Faithful"? It goes so much deeper than just believing! It's doing! It's being! It's growing, learning and becoming! It's repenting! Doing everything to best of your ability! It's stretching yourself!
It's becoming who our Father In Heaven has designed us to become, through Our Savior Jesus Christ.
It includes the Atonement and The Book of Mormon... and that's just the start of it all!
I love that quote. I will remember it forever.

My baby is getting so big!

Gah! I can't get enough of this little guy! We've nik-named him "The Man Cub" off of The Jungle Book! He really is just a mini-man!

I love that plump round bummy! And those little chubbers on his limbs!

This was his cute little outfit YESTERDAY! Oh my gosh, I just want to cry! He's getting soo big soo fast! He looks like a little man! My 5 week old baby is wearing 3 month old clothes like they're nothin!

Amos loves his tubby's like nothing else! LOVES! He absolutely hates getting out though...! Luckily this morning went quite smooth! He smells SoOOoO good after baths and lotion and nursing!

I love our baby! Kirk and I just can't get enough of this little guy! I can't tell you how overjoyed I get when I see my husband playing with him, talking to him and smiling from cheek to cheek! This is such a BOMB time in our life!

We were talking last night about how much he has grown in 1 month! It made us love him in the moment that much more. We had him sleep with us all night b/c we know he'll never be this little again! He sleeps with us from 3 am on when I get up to feed him, but we wanted our Snuggle Bug ALLLLL night! We know he's never going to be this small again, and the time will come too soon when he doesn't want to be our Cuddly baby... so we don't care what anyone says about him sleeping with us! We're holding on with both hands as long as we can! And at the same time we're just tickled by the changes he's making!
  • He is soo strong! He loves to stand up! And it's just been these last 2 to 3 days that he has figure out how to plant his feet flat and bear all his weight!! He can stand for maybe 3-4 seconds is all, but we're just inlove with the idea that he can do it! By himself!
  • He has total control over is head now! He can look wherever he wants, move it and support it all by himself! He rocks! He gets stronger and longer lasting every day!
  • He's AWAKE! SoOoOOoO much now! From 11am-6pm (give or take) he's bright eyed and bushy tailed! I'm just loving it!

word.

"Never forget that these little ones are the sons and daughters of God and that yours is a custodial relationship to them, that He was a parent before you were parents and that He has not relinquished His parental rights or interest in these little ones.

Now, love them, take care of them. Fathers, control your tempers, now and in the years to come. Mothers, control your voices, keep them down. Rear your children in love, in nurture and admonition of the Lord. Take care of your little ones, welcome them into your homes and nurture and love them with all of your hearts."

Say Cheese!

The After-Smile!
Amos is figuring out this whole smiling thing... if only mama cam figure out this whole picture-taking-timing-thing!

then & NOW...

My cute blue-eyed baby!

I use to lock the bathroom door while I was using it....

NOW I leave the door w-i-d-e open

I use to go anywhere on the drop of a dime....
NOW I can fall asleep anywhere on the drop of a dime

I use to think it was gross when moms put pacifiers in their mouth to clean them....
NOW I understand

I use to go country dancing with my husband until 2am....
NOW we start the bed routine between 8pm and 9pm

It use to take me 1hr and 15 minutes to get ready and perfectly cutified....
NOW I can shower, do my hair and makeup in less than 10 minutes (with an audience)

I use to pray every night....
NOW I commune, cry, plead, and consume my heart in prayer constantly

I use to wear cute clothes....
NOW I wear whatever is clean!

I use to have a spotless, neat home....
NOW it's sprinkled in diapers, strollers, half folded laundry and a full pantry

I use to cuddle with my husband the whole night through....
NOW I wake up with an extra hungry body in our bed (every 3 hours)

I use to rely on Diet Coke to get me through a rough minute....
NOW i desperately depend on the binky!

And I'm Loving Every Single Minute of It!!!

You know you are a mom when -- naked, soaked in sweat and blood, and a heart thumping from fatigue -- you are squeezing onto your bosom- ‘the whole universe wrapped in harmony with your soul’- and realize that this is the tiny body of your own baby. ...I've been there!!! Oh that's SO awesome!!

McAllister Family Update!

  1. Baby Amos is 1 month old today! HAPPY 4th OF JULY!
  1. Amos is officially out of Newborn diapers AND clothes as of today! We finally managed to finish off the tiny diapers so no more explosions! Might as well do away with stretching out those NB onsies too!
  2. We went up to SL for Reagans baby blessing! It was SooOO nice! The weather was gorgeous, Josh did wonderful, catch up with Heather rocked! Their little family was picture perfect! Thanks to Josh, we also stayed in a hotel which was super refreshing and much needed! Snuggle buddies:
  3. Fortuna Family Reunion at the Homesteads=YAY! Once again, the weather was BEAUTIFUL in Midway! We were able to spend time with family in the mountains, just where we love to be most! We also got a fabulous couples massage, lots of yummy food, and a trip up to see Grandpa&Ma's new cabin! On our way out of town we stopped to wish the Grandpas and Great Grandpa's a Happy Fathers Day, and introduce them to the newest member of the family! We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend and that's exactly what we got!
  4. My mom came last weekend to watch the baby while Kirk and I went out! I surprised him with an early Anniversary weekend! We went to the rodeo, had a delicious Steak dinner and spent the night in a hotel to sleep by ourselves for the second, 1st time :) I wish I hadn't left the camera in the diaper bag....!
Well- that's about as good as it's going to get for now! Gotta boogie!
