A September weekend!

Uncle Blake and Daddy with Amos!

While we were up in Salt Lake we were able to catch the end of Ky's soccer game! WahOOOo! Kirk and Ky wrapped up the morning with a little competition of themselves!

Great Grandma McAllister!
This was the entire point of the weekend... the McAllister Family Reunion! Family is so important to us! This is a picture of Great Grandpa McAllister's geneology tracing all the way back to Adam and Eve! YAY! What an accomplishment!! That means Kirk and Amos trace back too!
The Boyd McAllister family! Minus Boyd lol. He had work obligations and we sure missed him! But we'll see him soon, so it's okay! We spent the reunion chatting with all the cousins, playing more soccer, laughing and enjoying delcious food! It was at Cooperton Park. It was a BLAST! Totally worth the drive up!

Ky and his favorite Uncle Kirk! I'm still learning how to be as good of an aunt as Kirk is an uncle. He has it mastered! We sure love our nieces and nephews!

Grandma McAllister! We sure love her! She knows how to spoil Amos with everything Fire Fighter! She's a proud Grandmama! We are blessed to be her posterity! We got to spend Saturday night watching the Utes vs BYU game with her! GO UTES!

Grandma Fortuna! We sure love her too! She sent us home with all sorts of goodies! She's an excellent homemaker! And she hosted us for a delcious Sunday dinner! We also got to have family pictures done...YAY!

Uncle Brad and Aunt Leah! We didn't get enough time with them, dang it! We sure love them! I don't think we'll ever be satisfied with the time we share with them! Hopefully the future will have St George in store for them!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love my beautiful mother! I can't say it enough! She does so much for me and my family. She does so much for everyone! She doesn't get the recognition I think she deserves sometimes... She is the most Christ-like, humble and selfless person I know... Being in town reminded me of how hard she works and how much she loves those around her. I hope to be half the woman she is with half the positive outlook she has... I think I'd be pretty well off if I can be somewhat like her.

Our CUTE sleepy baby!! We wore him out that weekend!

My sweet family on Sunday morning dressed for church! Amos sported a Utes outfit to celebrate the weekends victory!

Oh, The Adventures of a Mom!

So here I am, trying to enjoy my Cafe Rio in peace.... Amos in one hand and sitting on my lap, a fork full of heaven-sent guacamole deliciousness in the other, with the lovely sound of Christina's voice filling the air with stories of her vacation.... awhhh. Then, the thunder rumbled in my sons pants and tada! Poop soup explosion! Saturating everything in distance! WAHOO!
So off to the restroom we go! To find no changing table.... So here we are on a nest of paper towels, taking a wipey bath on the floor of A PUBLIC RESTROOM...
excellent timing to:
A) run out of wipes
B) wear white pants
C) have my backup outfit for Amos say "I Heart Mom!"
This was us after the real bath!
Still best buds!

Wow! How'd I get so lucky?

I love my life with Kirk and Amos!
I cannot believe my baby boy is 3 months old!!
The Lord is good to me :)

.:Counting My Blessings:.

Amos and Mama

I love my big boy with my whole heart! I want the world for him!
Isn't that what every mother wants for her kids?
Happiness, love, Testimony, success, an education, strength, peace, stability, family, religion....
Shall I continue?

You are the pearls I cannot buy;
You are my blue Italian lake;
You are my piece of foreign sky.

Yesterday we got the opportunity to head up to Cedar City to meet up with one of Kirks best friends and his wife-to-be...Jon and Shirstin. It was really fun! We met up at a Singles Institute Fireside which kept things superrrr hilarious for Kirk, Amos and I. Especially since Amos was fussy! We stood out big time and people reacted to us so funny like! All the girls wanted to hold Amos and all the guys were major awkward. hahaha After the Fireside with Elder Oaks, we went to Jon and Shirstin's prayer group. Oh the good old days! If our family ward has treats at prayer group every Sunday night, I'd be there! Just like in my single days! Anywho, they left 10 minutes open to testimony's. Kirk got up!!! Diaper bag strapped across his chest, baby in arms, slobber shirt and all! He bore testimony that this nation (it being Sept 11th) was founded on Morals and Religion and God has blessed this country because of it. He also shared his love for his mission and what a spiritual time in his life it was for him. And he said, "But brothers, the biggest spiritual high you will ever get in your life...(he paused to choke down his sweet tears)... is when you get to carry a diaper bag." He is so so so good, in every way. I know at that instant every.SINGLE.girl in that room-which was all of them- wanted to be me. Kirk bore his testimony about family progression and of course I cried.
The rest of the night was nice and relaxing! We went to Jon's apt and hung out! He fixed us dinner and we just chilled! There was a thunder and lightening storm that had followed us to Cedar from St George. I rather enjoyed everything! I got the night off cooking, and got to be spoiled by my husband at the pulpit.
On our way home the weather still hadn't cleared. We loved it though! Storms are few and far between in these parts! And they smell SO GOOD! While we were on the freeway Kirk made the comment about how much he hates driving in rain storms because people don't slow down. He'd rather drive through a blizzard. My husband is a very defensive driver when Amos and I are in the car and I love that road-raging role he plays to protect us.
When we woke up this morning we got a phone call with some bad news. Kirk's neighbors growing up were driving on I-15, just out of St George, in the same rain storm about the same time. They were speeding and caught the road funny, rolled their car and the wife didn't make it.
They are such a warm and loving couple. Extremely strong in the church. Successful in their family, marriage and work life. They are a huge support to the neighborhood Kirk grew up in, so this news is tragic for lots of people. Of course I connected it with what Kirk said last night. (In no disrespect to these amazing people who were a part of our dating life in Salt Lake. I speed, he speeds, we all speed!) We are heart broken. They have done things for us that have made them very easy to love and appreciate.
I guess my point is that I wanted to take another opportunity to boast about my spouse. He is the One! And he always will be! I love Kirk more and more every minute! Somehow my capacity to love him is unobtainable! Just when I think I've maxed out my feelings for him, I catch my ignorance, and I fall in love again! And deeper! Thank you hunny! You amaze me. The way you use your Priesthood amazes me.

Keeping up with the McAllister's!

Here's my cuteness! Still eats every 2hours around the clock, which is why he sleeps in mommy and daddy's bed! (Plus, I'll take any excuse to cuddle between my two favorite boys!) I love him in jammies! This fall weather is going to make for some cute cute cute jammies!

I love how he holds his hands! Such a cute squishy baby!

I have to tell you all about this wonderful day before I forget some of the details! This was Labor Day Monday! And hallelujah, Kirk had work off!!!!! We began the day around 11am, ...that's how I knew it would be a good one! There's something sweet about the 3 of us piled in our comfy, soft bed, ALL sleeping in late :) And it was overcast! YAY! I love waking up to a stormy day! That's probably why we slept so well, the dark, cool weather is relaxing.... Well, I took a lazy few hours getting Amos and I showered and dressed while Kirk tinkered around in the garage, then off to lunch we went! We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Poncho & Lefty's, and spent all the time in the world we wanted to kick back and enjoy. We talked a lot about the gospel... how we recognize the Holy Ghost speaking to us, how we each found out the BOM was true, bits and pieces about Mormon doctrine that we like to discuss and dig around in, different things that we wonder about... I love connecting to my spouse on this level (Especially while I'm sipping a Diet Coke and cuddling our napping baby boy!). It really is a blessing to have the opportunity to be able to lose track of time together. It solidifies that we are sincerely best friends. Nothing feels better than that! After we wrapped up our late lunch, we packed into the jetta and off we were! Kirk took us to look at more guns! This was our second time, and we learned so much from the great guy at Sportsman's Warehouse. Gosh- I L.O.V.E. that place! I could blow a fortune there, and I know Kirk could too so we have to control ourselves! But after much deliberation, research and hands-on time, we've decided to get a Glock 90mm for me... but still looking and learning for Kirk. We're both so excited to have this hobby to do together! It has been SO fun already! It gives us something to talk about that excites us to all ends! I didn't think I would ever be the type to love firearms as much as I'm discovering about myself! We were there until closing, and once again lost track of time together :) We walked out through the rainy weather and hit up Maverick for a delicious frozen yogurt and redbox movie to finish the night off! And we got a WINNER! Have you ever seen The Conspirator? It's about the assassination of Pres Lincoln and HOLE.E.MOLY was it fantastic! We watched it twice and have come to terms with purchasing it (or at least I have!). We highly recommend it! Aww snuggly time with Amos, Me and Dad on our couch during the stormy weather :) What a wonderful day!

18 pounds exactly!
The bigger he gets, the more there is to hold onto! It's the best! I try not to be a smothering mom, but he sure makes it hard to contain my kisses!

He's becoming a giggly giggly baby and it's adorable!

AND

He has rolled over a grand total of 6 times! His first time was Monday the 29th of August! He also loves peaches! I pureed some for him the other day just for a taste and he through a fit every time I stopped feeding him! He is sure easy to enjoy!

Zions!

Today was the first day that Kirk and I have shared our love for Zions with Amos! We got some goooOOooOod action in! The weather was bright, hot and very summery....thank goodness for the cool river! Whew! I felt like a pioneer mama trying to keep her babies shaded and cool! :) Amos made the cutest little, high pitched "ooooo!"s and "ahhhh"s when we dipped him in the running water.... it was so stinkin cute! He would tuck his feet up under his bum, then stick them in the water, tuck them up, splash them down.... after he got use to it he liked the gooey wet clay on his feet. It was a great first experience I would say! And while I'm sayin it, -Kirk is such an excellent father and husband! He was taking drastic measures to make sure me and Amos were okay. He is so good at showing his concern for me. He is always putting my happiness and comfort first. He is really good at serving me and I have so much to be grateful to him for. I just love it when he smiles, not just with his mouth, but with his eyes too! He gets such a wonderful sense of success and fulfillment when he knows his wife and baby are happy. He is so wonderful. On our way home he took us to only the BEST drink place ever.... Swig! It's a St George MUST! I'm so grateful to my hubby for being so fun and adventurous. He makes life so complete and full of energy! There are so many things I can think of to brag about! I'm also very grateful that we are a healthy and active family. We're learning how to balance life with a new baby, and we mean that in a good way! As good as possible because, really, it's very thrilling!! Challenging at times, but rewarding. Taking our family a step further has brought out so many good qualities in each of us, and helped redirect us in other areas. HF's Plan is really quite amazing! It's really cool to go through each stage of life and gain more and more understanding... and especially with Kirk at my side! I met him when I was 18 and have been on this journey with him ever since! I'm the lucky one :)

one word:CUTE!

Amos is so cute!!!! I just don't know how I can love so much! He is AWH! The CUTEST! He got that addicting cuteness from his dad.
